How It Works: Cash prizes are awarded to the Top 3 Teams based on the overall team points earned during the tournament. But there’s more — the total amount of the cash prize depends on how many athletes register for the event. The more athletes, the bigger the prize pool!

We use Smoothcomp for all our tournaments. It is an amazing system!
If you already have a Smoothcomp account, we suggest you check to make sure all your information is entered into the system such as birth date, e-mail address, and mobile phone number.
Having a Smoothcomp account makes it very easy for you to stay updated with all the information needed on the day of the tournament such as brackets, schedule, and upcoming matches.
FINDING MATCHES ON SMOOTHCOMP IN 3 EASY STEPS

On the top of this page, you will see a link that will lead you directly to the brackets.
Once you go to the BRACKETS, you will see a top menu that has the following three items:
INFO - PARTICIPANTS - MATCHES
Click on the "Matches" so you can apply the filter and search for competitor name.

Apply the filter by typing the competitor's name. Scroll down and click SEARCH.
This will filter everything and only show the matches for the specific competitor.
We suggest typing the LAST NAME since there might be many kids with the same first name. For even better results, you can type in the competitor's FULL NAME.

We keep our brackets moving at a very fast pace! So, competitors must be ready at least 2 hours before that scheduled time!

WEIGHT & WEIGH-IN
Please ensure the competitor is registered for the correct weight class.
If you need to make any changes to the weight division, don't worry... it's super easy!

✅ YOUR CHILD MUST BE WEIGHED IN AT LEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE THEIR SCHEDULED BRACKET START TIME!
Competitors may weigh in as soon as doors open at 8:00 AM, regardless of their scheduled competition time.
Priority for Early Competitors: From 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, priority will be given to competitors scheduled to compete between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Other competitors may still weigh in, but they might have to wait until these priority athletes are weighed-in first.
Weigh-In Deadline: All competitors MUST complete their weigh-in at least one hour before their scheduled division. For example, if your match is scheduled for 11:00 AM, you must weigh in by 10:00 AM at the latest.
COMPETITORS ARE ALLOWED TO WEIGH IN WITH OR WITHOUT THEIR GI.
- IF THE ATHLETE WANTS TO WEIGH-IN WITH THE GI, IT'S OK!
- IF THE ATHLETE WANTS TO WEIGH-IN WITHOUT THE GI, IT'S OK!
✅ There is a +1.5 lb. (one and a half pound) weight allowance for all WHITE BELT divisions.
✅ There is a +1.0 lb. (one pound) weight allowance for all GREY BELT divisions.
✅ There is a +0.5 lb. (half pound) weight allowance for YELLOW, ORANGE, or GREEN BELT divisions.
Any weight over these allowances will result in missing weight. Any athlete who is over their registered weight is subject to disqualification.
Competitors, or parents of children competitors, are responsible for ensuring that the weight is met. All athletes must make weight before their first match.
Brave Jiu-Jitsu strongly recommends that children compete at their natural weight and do not support or encourage any form of weight cutting for competition.

General Admission
The general admission area is separated from the mat area by a barrier, which helps manage the crowd. You can choose to stand right in front of the barricades or sit on the bleachers. You won't miss any of the fighting action. However, you will be a little farther away, giving you a broad perspective of the matches. If standing, you might be behind other guests.
VIP Experience
The VIP mat-side seats place you right in front of the fighting action! This setup provides a much more "immersive experience" allowing you to feel as though you’re part of the matches with enhanced unobstructed views and additional comfort since you will have a chair to sit on. Being up close means better pictures and videos! Go VIP.. you won't regret it! Guaranteed!
BRAVE JIU-JITSU RULES
Brave Jiu-Jitsu and the International Brave Jiu-Jitsu Family Federation (IBJJFF) closely adhere to the standards of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) with a few exceptions to accommodate our Brave Jiu-Jitsu Kids Tournament Model.
Brave Jiu-Jitsu follows the standard round-robin format, with a maximum of 4 matches in brackets with 5 or more competitors. The round-robin bracket puts all competitors in a group and matches them against each other. This format means all competitors will have multiple different matches and a greater competition experience.
These are the types of brackets we use for our tournaments:

✅ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲:
Bracket of 3 = 2 Total Matches Guaranteed
Bracket of 4 = 3 Total Matches Guaranteed
Bracket of 5 = 4 Total Matches Guaranteed
Bracket of 6 or More = 4 Total Matches Guaranteed
(Maximum 4 Matches Per Participant)
If a competitor cannot continue their matches due to injury, their opponent will be declared the winner via "walkover". Because of the round-robin format, and depending on the total number of competitors in the bracket, teammates might be matched against one another. When using the round-robin bracket format, there is a possibility that athletes end up with the same amount of wins and if so there is no clear winner. Therefore, "tiebreaker rules" must be added to resolve this situation. Brave's round robin tiebreaker order will processed in the following order:

To score points, competitors must complete the proper technique, demonstrate control and dominance, and be free from any submission holds.
We strongly encourage parents and coaches to ensure they understand the IBJJF rules. Make sure competitor knows what are all the legal and illegal moves!
