Belt Divisions

After speaking with many coaches over the past four days in Las Vegas, it’s clear this was a great decision! The separation of the belts, as shown in the image, has been very well received. Coaches agreed that this progression makes things clearer and fairer and gives our young athletes more achievable milestones as they grow in Jiu-Jitsu. We’re proud to continue improving and listening to the community. Thank you to all the coaches, parents, and athletes who gave their input! It’s because of YOU that Brave keeps growing and evolving!

White Belt
Traditional beginner level. Plain solid white belt.

Brand-new students with minimal or no competition experience.

White Belt + Black Stripe + White/Grey Belt
White belt with a solid black stripe running across the belt. Indicates an advanced white belt, typically preparing for transition to grey ranks. Used by some academies to distinguish students progressing from beginner to intermediate. These athletes have more experience and understanding of the basics than standard white belts. A belt that includes both white and grey colors in a horizontal split. Recognizes students who are moving beyond white but not yet ready for full grey status. Used by some academies to distinguish students progressing from beginner to intermediate.

Grey Belt + Grey/Black Belt
Solid grey belt, representing an intermediate youth rank. Athletes with a stronger grasp of techniques, usually with consistent training and competition exposure. Grey belt with a solid black stripe running across the belt. Signifies an advanced grey belt, one of the highest youth belt levels before moving into colored ranks like yellow.

VIP & All Day Access Pass

VIP Mat-Side Seat

  • Gives one parent or spectator mat-side access only during their athlete’s bracket.

  • Once the athlete finishes all matches, that access ends. At that point, the parent should move to the podium area or regular spectator seating.

All-Day Access Pass

  • Provides mat-side access for the entire tournament, not just for the duration of the athlete's bracket.

  • Holders can stay inside the mat area all day, regardless of when their athlete competes.

  • Cost: $200.
