Takedown Only Brackets

Athletes earn points by executing clean, controlled takedowns. Once a takedown is achieved and control is established for a brief moment, the referee halts the action, resets both athletes to a standing position, and the match continues.

This format encourages:

Explosiveness and takedown timing are crucial, as is balance and control. Real competition experience in takedown exchanges is invaluable for any athlete. Building confidence in the standing phase is essential for success in jiu-jitsu tournaments.

Participating in a takedown competition format is a fast-paced, technical, and enjoyable way to showcase and enhance your wrestling takedowns. The takedown-only bracket is perfect for athletes eager to test and improve their takedown abilities in a safe, controlled environment.
